Will Drew joined the University of Minnesota football program in July 2024 as the Assistant Director of Player Personnel. He was named Director of Offensive Scouting in February 2025.
Drew came to the Gophers after spending two seasons at Marshall. He spent the 2022 season as assistant director of player personnel where, among his responsibilities, he did database management, handled initial transfer portal and junior college evaluations and created recruiting boards. After a four-month stint as the interim general manager for the Thundering Herd, Drew was the director of player personnel and pro liaison from May to December of 2023. In that capacity, he took part in advanced scouting, oversaw transfer portal evaluations, managed the high school summer camps and oversaw official and unofficial visit plans, among other duties. From December of 2023 to the end of his tenure at Marshall, Drew added co-general manager to his title where he also oversaw the recruiting department, managed NIL distribution, worked collaboratively with academic advisors, and other off-field responsibilities.
Prior to Marshall, Drew was the assistant recruiting coordinator at his alma mater, Bowie State, from June 2020 to June 2022. After starting his playing career at Hampton University, Drew, a fullback and long snapper, transferred to Bowie State where he earned his bachelor of science degree in sports management and business in May of 2018. He later earned his masters in human resources and development from Bowie in May of 2020.
