The Golden Gopher women's cross country team rested its top runners for next week's Big Ten Conference Championships but was still able to record a perfect team score in the three-team Minnesota Open meet on Friday. Minnesota posted a score of 15. Augsburg was second with a team score of 38. Wisconsin-Superior did not compete with a full team.
Junior Krista Anderson led the Gopher sweep, winning the 5-kilometer race with a time of 19 minutes, 2.2 seconds. Senior Allison Mumbleau was second in 19:20.8 and freshman Amy Lindner grabbed third in 19:30.9. Senior Christine Harper (19:40.1) and sophomore Annie Wells (19:53.1) completed the top five team scoring individuals.
The Gophers next competition is Sunday, Nov. 3, at the Big Ten Conference Championships in West Lafayette, Ind.
