today.Minnesota junior Darja Vasiljeva was named the Big Ten Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, the Big Ten announced today. Vasiljeva won the Iowa State Invitational last Saturday, covering the four-kilometer course in 14 minutes, 22.22 seconds. She led a pack of six Golden Gophers to finish in the top 10 at the unscored event that featured Minnesota, Iowa State and Northern Iowa.

The Golden Gophers are idle this weekend. Minnesota's next competition is Oct. 19 at the Pre-National Meet in Terre Haute, Ind.
