SGolden Gopher junior Lauren Williams captured her second individual victory of the season, winning the Iowa State Invitational in Ames, Iowa on Friday. Williams covered the 4-kilometer course in a time of 14 minutes, 21.86 seconds, 30 seconds faster than the time she posted on the same course a year ago.

Minnesota tallied seven of the top 10 placewinners in the non-team scoring meet. Senior Zoe Nagell placed second, three seconds behind Williams, finishing in a time of 14:24.95.

"This was a good training run for us," said Golden Gopher head coach Gary Wilson. "We competed well and had nine runners post times under 15 minutes."

Two Gopher freshmen finished in the top five. Ladia Albertson-Junkans placed fourth in a time of 14:37.17, while Annie Yetzer finished fifth in 14:39.72.

Minnesota's next competition is on Oct. 9, when the Gophers compete in the UMD Pine Hills Invitational.
