Northern Michigan Wins Third Consecutive Griak Women's Maroon II Title

Northern Michigan captured its third consecutive title today with 73 points in the Women's Maroon II Race at the Roy Griak Invitational in Falcon Heights, Minn.

Covering the 6-kilometer course at the Les Bolstad Golf Course and finishing in second, was Concordia Nebraska with 84 points.

Wisconsin-Stevens Point senior Megan Craig took first place with a time of 22 minutes and 19.5 seconds. Following her and placing second individually was Sephanie Howe, a junior from Northern Michigan with a time of 22:31.2.

Craig had two of her teammates Jenna Mitchler in fourth and Leah Herlache in fifth finish closely behind her. "Having my teammates right there with me really helps push me through the race." Craig said. "This race shows everyone what we've got!"
