The Minnesota women’s cross country team, the two-time defending Big Ten Conference champions, reported to preseason training camp on Thursday. The largest team in the nation, numbering around 50 student-athletes every year, spent the day in meetings, getting a team photo taken and just getting to know each other.

Minnesota’s first meet of the season in on Saturday, Sept. 5 (10 a.m.), when the Gophers compete in the annual Intrasquad Meet at the Les Bolstad Golf Course in Falcon Heights.
