MINNEAPOLIS – The Gopher women’s track & field and cross country program had another successful season in 2016-17, capping the year as runners-up at the Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championship and sending six individuals to the NCAA Outdoor Championship.

Take a look back at some of the highlights from the 2016-17 season by the numbers.

4,360 - The Gophers completed 4,360 hours of community service during the 2016-17 year and won Minnesota’s 2017 Team Community Service Award for the sixth time in the last seven years. The team averaged more than 50 volunteer hours per person.

210 - Temi Ogunrinde broke Minnesota's program record in the hammer throw with a mark of 210-00 (64.01m).

140 - Nicolle Murphy was awarded Minnesota’s Land O’Lakes Outstanding Achievement Award in Leadership and Service for her accomplishments in the areas of leadership and volunteerism. She has logged more than 140 volunteer hours.

105.5 - Minnesota scored 105.5 points at the 2017 Big Ten Outdoor Track & Field Championship to finish as B1G runners-up.

56-04 - Kiley Sabin threw 56-04.00 (17.17m) to set a new indoor program record in the shot put.

51.99 - Emerald Egwim improved on Minnesota's indoor (52.73) and outdoor (51.99) program records in the 400m this season.

51 - Madeline Strandemo placed 51st of 250 runners while representing Minnesota at the 2016 NCAA Cross Country Championship as an at-large individual qualifier.

43 - The Gophers had 43 Academic All-Big Ten Cross Country and Track & Field honorees this season.

30 - Thirty different individuals recorded career-best 6K times during the cross country season.

20:23.7 - Madeline Strandemo ran the fastest 6K race of the cross country season for the Gophers, leading the team and placing seventh overall at the NCAA Midwest Regional in 20:23.7.

18 - Eighteen Gophers qualified for the 2017 NCAA West Prelim.

9 - The Gophers broke nine indoor and outdoor track & field program records.

8.13 - Kimberly Golding and Emma Spagnola tied for the top 60m hurdles time in program history at 8.13 seconds.

7 - Seven Gophers recorded all-time top-50 six-kilometer times during the cross country season.

6-00.75 - Taylor Wiebke broke Minnesota's outdoor program record in the high jump with a leap of 6-00.75 (1.85m) to break six feet and qualify for the USATF Outdoor Championships.

6 - Six Gophers were named All-Americans at the indoor and outdoor national meets.

4 - The Gophers won four individual Big Ten titles: Madeline Strandemo (indoor mile), Emerald Egwim (outdoor 400m), Temi Ogunrinde (hammer throw), and Madeline Strandemo (3,000m steeplechase).

3.46 - Minnesota had an overall team grade point average of 3.46.

3 - Minnesota had three NCAA Midwest all-region performers during the cross country season.

2 - The team placed second at the 2017 B1G Outdoor Championship.

1 - Megan Hasz finished her rookie cross country season as the top freshman in program history, having run the fastest 6K time ever by a Gophers freshman at 20:27.7.
