MINNEAPOLIS – The University of Minnesota men’s and women’s cross country programs were honored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Friday morning as NCAA Division I Cross Country All-Academic Teams while four Maroon & Gold runners were named NCAA Division I All-Academic Individuals.

Both programs were among the best in the Big Ten with the women pacing the conference with a 3.60 grade point average as a team and the men ranking second in the league at 3.43.

Individually, Bethany Hasz, Megan Hasz and Madeline Strandemo repeated as NCAA Division I All-Academic Individuals for the women’s program while Connor Olson picked up his first career honor for the men’s program.

To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team award, a team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or better. Meanwhile, individual honorees must have compiled a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 and have finished in the top 25 finishers (or 10 percent) at regionals or as an All-American at the national meet.
