During his final season coaching Gopher cross country and track, many local and national organizations are honoring Gary Wilson for his dedication to his sports. Recently, the University of Minnesota's M Club and the Minnesota Distance Running Association (MDRA) both recognized the long-time Gopher coach.
The M Club inducted Wilson and presented him with a letter jacket and pin at the Jack Johnson Classic this past weekend. The M Club is made up of people who have earned a letter playing a sport for the Gophers, as well as honorary recipients including coaches.
The MDRA presented Wilson with the Lanin Award for Distinguished Service at its annual party this past weekend. The honor recognizes excellence and longstanding service to the Minnesota running community. The MDRA exists to promote safe, healthy participation in running.
