After a solid performance by the Golden Gophers’ top group at the Wisconsin adidas Invitational on Friday, the team’s second group brought home a win from UW-La Crosse’s Tori Neubauer Invitational today.
A trio of Minnesota runners led the way to a team win on a rainy day. Stephanie Solfelt (22:32.1), Kaitlin Mincke (22:32.7), and Jessica Schmidt (22:33.5) finished in a tight pack one after another in places nine through 11. Hannah Trasser, Katie Hill, Kaila Urick, and Heather Brunn completed the Gophers’ top seven spots.
The Gophers’ point total of 82 put them ahead of second-place Wartburg by 17 points.
Minnesota will host Jack’s Run next Saturday, Oct. 20, at 5:00 p.m. at Les Bolstad Golf Course. They will travel to the Big Ten Championships in East Lansing, Mich., on Sunday, Oct. 28.
