22 will race on Saturday at the Tori Neubauer

A member of the Gopher swimming and diving team her freshman and sophomore seasons, Solfelt made a changeover to cross country and track and field before the 2011 seasons.

2012Junior Season: Led the Gophers with a ninth-place finish at the Tori Neubauer Invite with a season-best time of 22:32.1 • finished 18th at the Blugold Invite (22:40.29) • ran in six races overall.

2011 Sophomore Season: Competed in three races • placed second on the team and tenth overall at the Tori Neubauer 6K, running 22:48 • raced a season PR of 22:39 at the Bluegold Invite, good for third on the team and eighth overall • ran the Roy Griak Invitational in 23:06.25. Solfelt qualified for the 2013 World Triathlons by finishing in the top 18 at age group nationals, and the 2013 "Best of the U.S." Triathlon by placing in the top three in Minnesota's qualifying triathlon.

2010-11: Sophomore Season: Solfelt swam in the Minnesota Grand Prix, Minnesota challenge, and other dual meets throughout the year. Solfelt qualified for the 2011 World Triathlon Championships by finishing fifth at USA Triathlon Championships.

2009-10 • Freshman Season: Swam in five events in the Minnesota Grand Prix (11/13), including both IM and both breaststroke races • had a third place finish in the 200 back (2:08.83) at the Falcon Invite (12/4) • added fourth place finishes in the 200 IM and 200 fly • recorded season-best times in the 200 back and 400 IM at the Minnesota Challenge (2/5), finishing third in both those events.

HIGH SCHOOL: A 2009 graduate of Eden Prairie High School • swam with high school team under coaches Marcy Wiesner and Dan Tripps • also swam with Team Foxjet and Aquajet swim clubs • NISCA All-American in 2008 and 2009 • two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-America honoree • two-time all-state selection • four-time all-conference member • member of the three-time conference championship team in 2006, 2007 and 2008 • team captain and voted most dedicated • has competed at the Speedo Champion Series as well as the Junior Nationals

PERSONAL: Born December 11, 1990 • daughter of Bob and Jody Solfelt • is the third Solfelt sibling to compete in Gopher athletics • older sister, Sarah, was a 4 year member and captain of the women's team, while Mark was a 4 year member and captain of the men's swim team • plans to major in elementary education with an autism certificate • plans to go right into graduate school for autism and developmental cognitive disabilities for special education.
