telecasThe Minnesota-Illinois match in Champaign schedule for Friday, Nov. 26 at 7 pm has been added to the Big Ten television package as the conference wildcard television match. The match will be telecast on tape-delayed basis on Fox Sports Net North on Sunday, Nov. 28 at 3 p.m.
Minnesota has played five matches on television this year. The Golden Gophers first televised match was against Florida on Sept. 11 on CSTV. Minnesota also has matches on Fox Sports Net at Ohio State (Oct. 1), at home against Wisconsin (Oct. 8) and in Williams Arena against Illinois on Oct. 16. The Golden Gophers had one match ESPN 2 against Wisconsin on Oct. 30.
The Big Ten announces it television package at the beginning of the season, but reserves the right to pick the match it wants televised on the last weekend of the season. For the second year in a row a match involving Minnesota has been selected. Last year, Fox Sports Net telecast the Golden Gophers match four-game loss to Penn State on Nov. 28. This year's match between Illinois and Minnesota will be the third the Golden Gophers match that was televised as part of the Big Ten package.
With this match, Minnesota will have had 17 matches over the past three seasons that have been telecast on either Fox Sports Net, ESPN 2 or CSTV.
