The Minnesota volleyball team moved up three spots to No. 19 in this week's AVCA Top 25 according to an announcement on Monday, Nov. 15. The Gophers received 420 points in the top 25 poll this week.
With the No. 19 ranking, the Gophers have now been ranked in the AVCA Top 25 for 45 straight weeks dating back to the final poll in 2007. That extends Minnesota's record-breaking streak of consecutive weeks in the top 25.
Minnesota went 2-0 on the week with a three-set victory over No. 16 Michigan and a five-set win over Michigan State. With the two victories, the Gophers moved into a tie for third place in the Big Ten with the Wolverines at 10-6.
The Gophers are joined by four Big Ten teams in the poll. Penn State is ranked No. 7, Illinois is No. 9, Michigan is No. 20 and Northwestern is No. 25. Purdue (45) and Ohio State (7) also received votes in the poll.
Minnesota will be back in action when it travels to Wisconsin on Friday, Nov. 19 at 7 p.m. The Gophers will also face No. 8 Illinois on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 4:30 p.m. Saturday's match can be seen live on the Big Ten Network.
