10-mThe Minnesota volleyball team dropped four spots in the USA Today/AVCA Top 25 poll to No. 24 on Monday, Nov. 10. The Golden Gophers received 163 points in this week's poll.

Minnesota had its 10-match Big Ten winning streak snapped on Friday, Nov. 7 in a five-game loss at the hands of Illinois. The Golden Gophers then dropped a three-game decision at Northwestern on Saturday, Nov. 8.

The Golden Gophers currently sit in a three-way tie for second place in the Big Ten with No. 23 Wisconsin and No. 25 Illinois at 10-4. Those three teams trail No. 16 Penn State who leads the Big Ten with an 11-3 record. Michigan State is in fifth place at 9-5. Minnesota is 5-1 against other top teams in the Big Ten, and has matches at Michigan State, and home against Penn State remaining against those teams.

Minnesota is one of four Big Ten teams ranked in the top 25. That list includes No. 16 Penn State, No. 23 Wisconsin and No. 25 Illinois. Michigan State is first in receiving votes at 119.

The Golden Gophers have now been in the top 25 for 25 of the last 28 weeks of the poll.

Minnesota will return home to face Purdue on Friday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. The Golden Gophers will also take on Indiana on Saturday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m.
