The Minnesota volleyball team will host No. 20 Ohio State and No. 3 Penn State this week at the Sports Pavilion. Minnesota will take on the Buckeyes on Friday, Oct. 21 at 7 p.m. That match will be broadcast by Comcast Chicago on a tape-delayed basis on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 4:30 p.m. Minnesota will also face No. 3 Penn State on Saturday, Oct. 22 at 7 p.m. That match will broadcast be by Fox Sports Net North on a tape-delayed basis on Sunday, Oct. 23 at 12 noon. Minnesota enters the week ranked No. 12 in the nation and is 16-3 overall. The Golden Gophers sit in third place in the Big Ten at 6-2 trailing Wisconsin (7-1) and Penn State (8-0). Ohio State is tied for fourth place in the conference at 5-3, and is 12-5 overall. The Nittany Lions have a 17-2 overall record this season.

Minnesota looks to continue the success it has had in Big Ten play at home since 2002. In the last three seasons, the Golden Gophers are 29-4 in conference home matches. Minnesota’s only home losses the past two years have come to Penn State in 2003 & 2004. The Golden Gophers lost twice in Big Ten play in 2002 when they fell to Ohio State and Illinois. Minnesota is 55-13 overall in Big Ten play since 2002.
