Click Here For Golden Gopher Volleyball Notes Minnesota will wrap up a four-match road trip when it heads to Ohio State on Friday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. and No. 13 Penn State on Saturday, Oct. 18 at 6 p.m. The Golden Gophers started out the four-match Big Ten road trip on the right foot with victories at Iowa and No. 21 Wisconsin. Those wins moved Minnesota to 4-2 in Big Ten play. The Golden Gophers come into the week in a five-way tie for second place, trailing Penn State by one match. The Nittany Lions are 5-1 in Big Ten play after losing at Illinois and winning at Northwestern last weekend. Overall, Penn State brings a 16-2 record into the week. Ohio State enters the week with a 1-5 conference record and is 7-7 overall. The Buckeyes lost to Illinois and Northwestern on the road last week. Ohio State and Penn State handed Minnesota two of its three conference losses last year. The Nittany Lions gave the Golden Gophers their only conference road loss of the 2002 season, while Ohio State defeated Minnesota at the Sports Pavilion a night after the Golden Gophers had clinched the 2002 Big Ten title.
The Minnesota-Ohio State match on Friday, Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. will be telecast live on Fox Sports Net North. It will be the second of four Gopher matches to be televised this season. Minnesota will also be on Fox Sports Net North when it hosts Wisconsin on Oct. 31. and on ESPN 2 against Ohio State on Nov. 29.
