The Minnesota volleyball team (11-5, 5-1) will host No. 9 Purdue (15-2, 5-1) in its only match of the season at Williams Arena on Saturday, Oct 14 at 7 p.m. Both teams enter the week tied for second place in the Big Ten at 5-1.

Minnesota will be attempting to break its attendance record of 10,927 set on Oct. 16, 2004 against Illinois at Williams Arena. The 10,927 fans were the most to see a collegiate volleyball match in 2004. Last year, the Golden Gophers drew their second-highest crowd in school history when 9,761 fans saw Minnesota defeat Indiana at Williams Arena on Oct. 29, 2005.

Minnesota enters the week ranked No. 23 in the nation, and has won nine of its last 10 matches. The Golden Gophers are tied for second in the Big Ten at 5-1, on match behind Penn State at 6-0.
