The Minnesota volleyball team will play a midweek match this week against Iowa at the Sports Pavilion on Wednesday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m. Minnesota will then head to Indiana to play the Hoosiers on Friday, Oct. 7 at 7 p.m. The Golden Gophers enter the week with a 13-2 overall record and a 3-1 Big Ten record. Minnesota sits in third place behind Penn State and Wisconsin who have both started out 4-0 in conference play. The Nittany Lions and Badgers will meet on Oct. 8 in Wisconsin this week. Iowa enters the week with an 11-6 overall record and is 1-3 in Big Ten play. Indiana is 8-8 overall and has 1-3 conference mark this season.

Minnesota enters the week with a 36-4 record at the Sports Pavilion since the beginning of the 2003 season. The Golden Gophers went 16-2 in 2003 and 15-1 in 2004. Minnesota is 5-1 this season, with its only loss coming to No. 1 Nebraska on Sept. 5. Minnesota had won 12 straight home matches before losing in five games to the Cornhuskers. Minnesota is 127-40 at the Sports Pavilion since it started playing there in 1994.
