    The Minnesota volleyball team continues a stretch of nine matches away from the Sports Pavilion when the Golden Gophers head to Forth Worth, Texas to play Campbell on Friday, Sept. 16 at 4:30 p.m. Minnesota will also face Maine on Saturday, Sept. 17 at 10:30 a.m. and finish the tournament against TCU at 7 p.m. Campbell enters the week with a 4-6 record, while Maine is 1-5. Host TCU brings a 6-2 overall record into the week. Minnesota enters the weekend with a 7-1 overall record after winning three matches at the Kansas State Invitational, and claiming a neutral-site three-game victory over Northern Iowa in Rochester, Minn.

    Minnesota has picked up right where it left off last season defensively in its first eight matches. The Golden Gophers are limiting opponents to a .085 hitting percentage in the first eight matches off the season. Minnesota has limited all but two opponents to lower then a .100 hitting percentage. This past weekend, the Golden Gophers’ three opponents in the Kansas State Invitational hit .095. Minnesota limited Houston to a .082 hitting percentage, Florida State to .036 and No. 24 Kansas State to .140. The Golden Gophers also limited Northern Iowa to a .074 hitting percentage on Sept. 13. Minnesota has not allowed an opponent to hit over .200 this year. The highest opposing hitting percentage came when No. 1 Nebraska hit .193 on Sept. 5.
