oThe Minnesota volleyball team will have its media day on Monday Aug. 25 at 2:45 p.m. Minnesota will start the season the same week when it plays in the Hawaiian Airlines Classic in Honolulu, Hawai'i on Aug. 29-31.

There will also be an intersquad scrimmage on Friday, Aug. 22 at 3 p.m., which media are welcome to attend.

Minnesota will start its fall practice schedule on Friday, Aug. 8. Players and coaches will be available for interviews on practice days. Head Coach Mike Hebert is currently coaching the U.S. National Team at the Pan-American Games and will not be available to be interviewed until Monday, Aug. 18.

The Golden Gophers return nine letterwinners and five starters from last year's team, which won the first Big Ten title in school history and advanced to the "Sweet Sixteen" for the third time in four seasons. Minnesota also has a group of freshman that was the fourth-ranked recruiting class in the nation according to prepvolleyball.com
