The Minnesota volleyball team will have four matches televised on the Big Ten Network according to an announcement made on Monday, July 21.
Minnesota will have three home matches and one road match televised this year. Three of the matches will be Big Ten contests, and one will be a non-conference matchup.
The Golden Gophers will kick off volleyball action on the Big Ten Network in 2008, as their non-conference matchup with Notre Dame will be televised on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 2:30 p.m. That match will be the final one of the three-day Diet Coke Classic, which will also feature 2007 Final Four participant California and 2007 NCAA Regional Final participant Cal Poly.
Minnesota’s first televised conference matchup will take place at home against defending national champion Penn State on Saturday, Oct. 11 at 6 p.m. The Golden Gophers will also host Iowa on Wednesday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. Minnesota’s final scheduled telecast will be on Saturday, Oct. 25 at 6 p.m. when the Golden Gophers travel to Ann Arbor to face Michigan.
Overall, the Big Ten Network is scheduled to broadcast 20 women’s volleyball matches during the course of the 2008 season.
The Big Ten Network can be seen on Channel 220 on DiRecTV, 439 on Dish Network and will be available during the season on Comcast as well.
