matThe Minnesota-Illinois match at Champaign, Ill. on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 7 p.m. (CT) will be telecast on a tape-delayed basis as part of the Big Ten’s national package of three women’s volleyball matches with ESPN 2.
Minnesota’s match at Illinois will be telecast on a tape-delayed basis on ESPN 2 on Sunday, Oct. 16 at 1:30 p.m. (CT).
Last year, Minnesota and Illinois played in the highest attended women’s volleyball match in the nation as 10,927 fans came to see the Golden Gophers’ first match at Williams Arena since 1993.
Minnesota is coming off a season in which it advanced to the National Championship for the first time in school history. The Golden Gophers were 33-5, and finished tied for second in the Big Ten at 17-3.
Illinois was 19-11 overall, made an appearance in the NCAA Tournament and finished fifth in the Big Ten play at 11-9.
