Minnesota Volleyball Players Fare Well at U.S. Open Championships
The Minnesota volleyball team had several current and former players fair well at the USA Open Championships in New Orleans, La. this past week.

The Minnesota volleyball team had several current and former players fair well at the USA Open Championships in New Orleans, La. this past week.

In the women’s AA division, the team known as Team Minnesota claimed the championship from a group that included 27 teams. Current Golden Gopher Kelly Bowman (Maple Grove, Minn.) joined former Golden Gophers Jen Bowman and Stephanie Hagen to help lead the team to the USA Open championship in the AA division.

Kelly Bowman was named to the All-Tournament team for the USA Open Championships in AA division, while Hagen was named the tournament MVP.

Minnesota associate head coach David Boos also was a coach on the USA Blue team in the women’s open division of the tournament. Boos helped coach the USA Blue to a second place finish in the tournament.
