The University of Minnesota Sports Pavilion will be receiving a much needed upgrade as new video boards will be installed in time for the 2014-15 academic season. The new video boards will benefit men's and women's gymnastics, volleyball and wrestling as the Sports Pavilion serves as the programs' home venue.
The video boards and fascia boards will be built and installed by Daktronics, Inc. in time for the Gopher volleyball season this August. The scoreboards will be 21' wide by 13' tall with an LED fascia board of 46' wide by 3'6" tall, located on both ends of the facility. The video boards will replace the 17' wide, 16' tall bulb-based boards that was installed in the early 1990's.
This is the second Sports Pavilion upgrade in the past two years, both to enhance the fan experience. The first came in 2012 when the sound system was replaced, at no additional cost, after the upgrade in Mariucci Arena.
