Minnesota Volleyball Wins Five of Seven Games From Iowa State in Spring Matchup
The Minnesota volleyball team defeated Iowa State in five of the seven games it played in a spring matchup at the Sports Pavilion on Saturday, Apr. 7.
Minnesota won one of the three games it played against the Cyclones in the morning session, as the Golden Gophers won game one 30-26 before dropping the next two games 30-20 and 30-27.
In the afternoon session, the Golden Gophers won all four games against Iowa State 30-28, 30-28, 30-23 and 30-16.
Last week, Minnesota won six of the eight games it played. Dating back to that tournament, the Golden Gophers have won 11 of the 15 games they have played in this spring session.
“We struggled a little bit in the morning session, but I thought we rebounded to play some of our best volleyball of the spring in the afternoon session,” said Minnesota Head Coach Mike Hebert. “Rachel Hartmann continues to improve at a rapid rate at the setter position and Kyla Roehrig has continued to assert herself as a dominant left-side hitter this spring.”
