The University of Minnesota volleyball program will be in full swing during the spring season as it competes three weekends in April. Minnesota heads to Cedar Falls, Iowa and Northern Iowa on April 6. The Gophers then travel to Ames, Iowa and Iowa State on April 13th. Minnesota will host seven teams on April 20th at the Sports Pavilion. Included in the Gopher tournament is UNI, Iowa State, North Dakota, Concordia, Wisconsin, South Dakota State and Ohio University. Times of matches will be announced at a later date.
Minnesota returns 10 from last year's roster and adds Kalei Mau and Sydney Howard to the spring campaign. Under first-year head coach Hugh McCutcheon, the Gophers finished the 2012 season at the NCAA Elite Eight and posted a 27-8 overall record. In Big Ten play, Minnesota was 15-5, good enough for second-place tie in league standings.
