Volunteer Coach


Jeannette Waldo is in her first year as a volunteer assistant coach and the Gopher volleyball program. Prior to her time at Minnesota, Waldo was the assistant coach at Benedictine College, while also coaching the Team KC Volleyball Club. At Benedictine College, Waldo served as the varsity assistant coach and the head coach of the junior varsity team. Assisting head coach Mary Lile, Waldo helped with all practices, game preparation, recruiting and summer camps. During her time there from 2008 to March 2011, Waldo helped Benedictine College finish second in the Heart of America conference. In conjunction with Benedictine, she was also the head coach for a year with Team KC Volleyball Club. In 2008-2010, Waldo was the head coach of the Sandshark Volleyball Club, where she led the team to win the Won Gold Heart Challenge, finish fifth in the Power League and sixth in the Omaha National Qualifier. Waldo has also worked several summer camps at Creighton, Kansas, Kansas State, Nebraska and Illinois.

Waldo played college volleyball at William Jewell College from 2002-2006 where she played the defensive specialist position as well as being a critical serving asset to the team. She was also a team captain her junior and senior seasons. A native of Topeka, Kan., Waldo also played for Topeka West High School as the setter and varsity captain.
