A small group from the sprints, jumps and hurdles will compete at the LSU Alumni Gold meet, while distance runners and throwers will be included in the larger group traveling to Iowa's Musco Twilight meet. Both meets will take place Saturday. The Musco Twilight will air on BTN on Saturday, April 27 at 11 a.m.
"Most of the team had last weekend off, so I'm excited to see what they can after some extra rest," Director of Track and Field/Cross Country Matt Bingle said. "We're looking to run fast in the 4x400-meter relay at LSU, and some of the distance runners will be in their main events at Iowa."
This Looks Familiar
The Gophers competed at both the LSU Alumni Gold and Musco Twilight meets a couple years ago in 2011. Todea-Kay Willis set the long jump school record at LSU, leaping 21-1 1/2. At Iowa, Cassy Opitz (1,500 meters) and Kelsey Joson (triple jump) recorded event victories.
