Emily Brown, Ruby Radocaj and Melissa Steele each recorded marks that were good enough to earn berths into the NCAA Midwest Region Championships.
Brown clocked a regional qualifying time of 10:40.66 taking first in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Steele qualified for her third straight Midwest Regional in the 400-meter hurdles, taking the meet title in a winning time of 1:00.42. Competing in her first meet as a Gopher, freshman Ruby Radocaj captured the javelin title, marking a regional qualifying distance of 144-2.
Senior Darja Vasiljeva captured the 3,000 meter crown in a winning time of 10:12.13. The Gophers also claimed titles in the 4x200- meter, 4x800-meter and shuttle hurdle relay races.
Runner-up performances in running events were recorded by Shari Schutz in the 100-meter hurdles (14.40), Katie Grundman in the 400 meters (57.36), Carly Emil in the 3,000 meters (10:13.12) and Jen Hess in the 3,000-meter steeplechase (10:57.38). Second place finishers in field events included Andrea Smith in the pole vault (11-7 3/4) and Nina Cotolupenco in the hammer throw (171-10).
The Gophers compete next weekend at the Mississippi Double Duals.
