Last Time Out: Minnesota Finishes Second at Bill Bergan Invitational
Minnesota finished second in the team standings with 120 points behind Kansas State (145 points) at the Bill Bergan Invitational last weekend. Host Iowa State (98), Texas (68) and South Dakota (61) rounded out the top five at the 10-team meet.
The Gophers picked up three event titles. Minnesota won the 4x400-meter relay in a school-record and meet-record time of 3:38.10. The team of Titania Markland, Alena Brooks, Te'Shon Adderley and Megan Geyen clocked the fastest Gopher time in program history. Minnesota also collected two individual first-place finishes as seniors Maggie Bollig (mile) and Kaitlin Mincke (1,000m) won their respective events. Bollig won the mile in a lifetime-best 4:46.49 for Minnesota’s top time of the season, and Mincke won the 1,00m in 2:51.14, the Gophers' fastest 1,000m time since 2008 (Nikki Swenson, 2:48.93).

The Golden Gophers' 4x400-meter relay team of seniors Alena Brooks, Te'Shon Adderly and Megan Geyen and freshman Titania Markland set a new Minnesota school record in 3:38.10 at last weekend’s Bill Bergan Invitational.
