The Minnesota women's track and field team won six event titles at Hamline's Meet of the Unsaintly on Friday and Saturday in St. Paul. The Golden Gophers were also supposed to compete at Concordia-St. Paul on Wednesday, but the meet was canceled due to inclement weather.
Gophers took home a quartet of throwing titles. Christina DeLakis (shot put), Devin Stanford (discus), Lyndsey Thorpe (hammer) and Emily Betz (javelin) all won their events. Jeri Johnson-Chambers was runner-up in the hammer.
The Gophers will travel to the Big Ten Championships in Columbus, Ohio, next week. The meet runs May 10-12.
Four Gophers Advance to NCAAs
Minnesota will have four representatives compete at the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championship next week.
Gophers Earn All-Big Ten Awards
Madeline Strandemo and Agnes Esser earned All-Big Ten honors with top-two finishes at the B1G Championship.
Gophers Finish Fourth at B1G Meet
Madeline Strandemo won the mile to lead the Gophers to a fourth-place team finish at the 2017 B1G Indoor Championship.
