Hamline Twilight - Full Results
To start off a busy week for the Golden Gopher track team, Minnesota captured six event titles at the Hamline Twilight in St. Paul.
The Gophers swept the throwing events after winning three of four at the Holst Invitational last week. Devin Stanford collected event wins for the third straight week. This week, she set a new PR in winning the hammer throw with a toss of 162 feet, six inches (49.52m), and won the discus as well (153-00, or 46.64). Jess Herauf won the javelin with a throw of 130-04 (39.73m). Christina DeLakis won shot put for the second meet in a row (49-04 1/4, or 15.04m).
Linnea Johnson ran a personal-record time of 56.69 seconds to win the 400-meter dash. Madison Smith won the 400 hurdles in 1:02.13, a career-best time for her.
Becca Pilkerton finished second in pole vault, but recorded the highest vault by a Gopher this outdoor season (12-06, or 3.81m).
The Hamline Twilight was just the start of five straight days of action for the Golden Gophers. Today, Minnesota will begin competition at the Drake Relays, which run through Saturday. The Steve Scott Invitational takes place Saturday and Sunday. Finally, the Janis Rider Invitational at Macalester also takes place Saturday.
Esser to Compete in Taiwan
Agnes Esser is set to represent her native Canada at the World University Games in Taipei, Taiwan.
Summer Update: Track's Temi Ogunrinde
Temi Ogunrinde is making the most out of her summer as she's interning with the 2019 NCAA Final Four Minneapolis Local Organizing Committee.
Gophers Earn USTFCCCA Academic Accolades
Fifteen individuals were honored by the USTFCCCA and Minnesota received a team award.
