Gophers Start Competition at Georgia
DeLakis ranks eight in school history in the shot put.

Competition started Friday at the University of Georgia meet with three field events and four parts of the heptathlon. The meet will conclude tomorrow, and live results will be available here for the Spec Town Invite and here for the heptathlon.

Christina DeLakis provided the biggest highlight for the Golden Gophers today. The freshman recorded the best shot put throw for Minnesota this outdoor season. Her toss of 50 feet, 2 inches (15.29m) ranks eighth in school history. DeLakis finished fourth in the event.

DeAnne Hahn recorded one of her best-ever throws in the hammer, landing a toss of 194-09 (59.36m). For full Spec Towns Invitational results click here.
