A pair of season-best jumps and a relay win highlighted the Golden Gophers' first day at Notre Dame's Meyo Invitational.
The distance medley relay team of Becca Dyson, Alena Brooks, Te'Shon Adderley and Maggie Bollig won with a time of 11:28.31. Adderley's 800m split was 2:08.
Melissa Flucke posted her best mark of the season, clearing 5-6 (1.68m) in the high jump to tie for eighth. Katie Murgic also had a season best, finishing fourth in pole vault with a mark of 12-7 1/2 (3.85m). Cami Gilson tied for seventh (3.70m).
Todea-Kay Willis finished fourth in the long jump with a mark of 19-5 1/2 (5.93m). Liz Berkholtz finished ninth in her first 5,000m as a Gopher (16:57.16).
Kylie Peterson advanced to the 60-meter dash final, which will take place Saturday. She had the fourth-fastest times in both prelims and semi-finals.
"It was good to see some season bests today," director of track and field/cross country Matt Bingle said. "Tomorrow will be the big day of the meet. We have a lot of major events tomorrow, and I'm excited to see what happens."
The Meyo Invite will resume at 10:00 a.m. tomorrow, starting with the unseeded 3,000m. Click here for links to live results and heat sheets.
