The University of Minnesota women’s track and field team finished up the weekend at the Minnesota State Open. The meet was not scored, but the Gophers had some high finishes on the day.
Minnesota’s Rachel Melum and Melissa Flucke each tied for first in the high jump with a height of 1.65m (5-5).
In the 400m Jessica Waldvogel took second with a time of 57.81, Linnea Johnson was third after finishing in 58.21 and Leighton Lerum took fourth at 58.21.
Senior Mikaya Larson took second in the 800m with a time of 2:19.38 and Jillian Johnson was behind her in fourth after finishing in 2:21.53.
Next weekend the Gophers will travel to South Bend, IN to take part in the Meyo Invitational. The event is hosted by the University of Notre Dame and will be on Friday and Saturday.
