A member of the Gopher swimming and diving team the last two seasons, Solfelt has made a changeover to cross country and Track and Field for 2011 seasons. Solfelt will be sophomore eligibility.
2012 Season - Indoor: Ran the 5,000 meters at the Iowa State Classic (18:05.84) • won the 5000m at the Jack Johnson Classic in 18:06.00.
2010-11: sophomore Season:Solfelt swam in the Minnesota Grand Prix, Minnesota challenge, and other dual meets throughout the year. Solfelt qualified for the 2011 World Triathlon Championships by finishing 5th at USA Triathlon Championships.
2009-10 • Freshman Season:Swam in five events in the Minnesota Grand Prix (11/13), including both IM and both breast races • had a third place finish in the 200 back (2:08.83) at the Falcon Invite (12/4) • added fourth place finishes in the 200 IM and 200 fly • recorded season-best times in the 200 back and 400 IM at the Minnesota Challenge (2/5), finishing third in both those events.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2009 graduate of Eden Prairie High School • swam with high school team under coaches Marcy Wiesner and Dan Tripps • also swam with Team Foxjet and Aquajet swim clubs • NISCA All-American in 2008 and 2009 • two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-America honoree • two-time all-state selection • four-time all-conference member • member of the three-time conference championship team in 2006, 2007 and 2008 • team captain and voted most dedicated • has competed at the Speedo Champion Series as well as the Junior Nationals
PERSONAL:Born December 11, 1990 • daughter of Bob and Jody Solfelt • is the third Solfelt sibling to compete in Gopher athletics • older sister, Sarah, was a 4 year member and captain of the women's team, while Mark was a 4 year member and captain of the men's swim team • plans to major in elementary education.
