2015 Season -- Indoor: Ran four races with two appearances in the mile and two in the 3,000m • ran a career-best 5:19.94 mile to place 18th at Parents Day Invite • ran a career-best 10:48.80 in the 3,000m to place 12th at St. Thomas Showcase.
2015 Season -- Outdoor: Ran the 1,500m at four meets • clocked a season-best 4:49.25 in the 1,500m for 12th place at the Eagle Open.
2014 Season: Redshirted the 2013 cross country season and the 2014 indoor and outdoor track & field seasons.
High School: A 2013 graduate of Andover High School • three-time Minnesota all-state cross country runner • owns two conference titles, four section titles, a fourth-place state finish and two seventh-place state finishes • competed in the 3,200m in the state track & field meet • holds Andover school records in the 4K (14:32), 3,200m (11:16) and 4x800m relay.
Personal: Born October 24, 1994 • major is biology, society, and the environment • daughter of Tim and Beth Barten • has two brothers, Andrew Heitzman and Garrett Barten • brother Andrew ran cross country at the University of St. Thomas • enjoys traveling and volunteering at the University of Minnesota Amplatz Children's Hospital.
