Ten women's track & field and cross country representatives are among Minnesota's 72 Big Ten Distinguished Scholar Award recipients
Nine Golden Gophers maintained a perfect 4.0 grade-point average during the 2014-15 academic year.

2015 Season - Indoor: Competed in both the shot put and the weight throw at six meets • recorded career-best marks in both events with throws of 14.42m (47-03.75) in the shot put and 19.41m (63-08.25) in the weight throw • ended the season ranked fourth among all-time Gopher throwers in the weight throw (19.41m) • placed seventh in the weight (19.41m) and 18th in the shot (13.09m) at the Big Ten championship • placed second in both the shot and the weight at the Parents Day Invite.
2015 Season - Outdoor: Compete in the hammer throw at 10 meets and the shot put at five meets • set career-best marks in both events at the Big Ten Championship, placing fifth in the hammer throw (59.78m, 196-1.75) and taking 17th in the shot put (14.01m, 45-11.75) • qualified for the NCAA West Prelim in the hammer throw and finished 27th with a throw of 57.63m (189-01) • ended the season ranked fourth in program history in the hammer throw (59.78m, 196-1.75) • won the hammer throw at the Eagle Open (58.80m, 192-11) • finished as hammer throw runner-up at the Hamline Twilight, Tommie Twilight, and Jaguar Challenge • USTFCCCA All-Academic team honoree, Big Ten Distinguished Scholar and Academic All-Big Ten honoree.
2014 Season - Indoor: Posted career-best throws in both the shot put (47-01.75, 14.37m) and the weight throw (57-01.00, 17.40m) • finished indoor season as seventh-ranked Gopher in program history in the weight throw with a career-best mark of 57-01.00 (17.40m), which won the event at Parents Day Open • placed fourth in the shot put (47-01.75, 14.37m) at Jack Johnson Classic • finished 10th in the shot put (46-07.25, 14.20m) and 17th in the weight throw (54-11.50, 16.75m) at Big Tens.
2014 Season - Outdoor: Competed in the shot put and the hammer throw • recorded season-best throws of 45-04.50 (13.83m) in the shot put and 189-10 (57.87m) in the hammer • advanced to the NCAA West Prelims in the hammer and finished 13th with a throw of 188-03 (57.37m) • finished third in the hammer (189-10, 57.87m) and tied for 18th in the shot put (44-07.00, 13.59m) at Big Ten Championships • finished the season tied for seventh in Gopher history in the hammer throw (189-10, 57.87m) • finished 17th with a season-best 45-04.50 (13.83m) in the shot put at UC San Diego • placed second in the hammer at USF Collegiate, UW-La Crosse and TSU Relays • Academic All-Big Ten honoree • USTFCCCA All-Academic honoree.
2013 Season - Indoor: Recorded her season-best shot put mark of 43-9.25 (13.34m) at the Jack Johnson Classic • finished third in shot at the Northwest Open • season-best weight throw was 49-2.25 (14.99m) at the MSU Open.
2013 Season - Outdoor: Finished 14th in the hammer throw at the Big Ten Championships • won the hammer at the Meet of the Unsaintly with a season-best mark of 176-11 (53.92m) • won the unseeded section of hammer throw at the Musco Twilight • season-best shot put was 43-9.75 (13.35m) at the Musco Twilight • finished second in the shot and hammer at the Janis Rider Invite.
2012 Season: Redshirted the indoor and outdoor track & field seasons.
High School: A 2011 graduate of Stanley-Boyd High School in Stanley, Wis. • high school coach was Kari Thorpe • received all-conference honors three times (2008, 2009 and 2010) • three-time conference champion in the shot put (2008, 2010 and 2011) • holds her high school record for the shot put with a mark of 45-5 • lettered four times in track (2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011) • also lettered three times in basketball • two-time letterwinner in volleyball.
Personal: Born November 5, 1992 • majoring in sport management • daughter of Jay and Kari Thorpe • has two older siblings, Kyle and Karla • enjoys reading and sleeping.
