Gopher freshman Hailey Poole has been named the National Congress of State Games Youth Female Athlete of the Year
High School: A 2017 graduate of Huntley Project High School • began high school career at Colstrip High School • competed for coaches John Poole, Guy Croy, and Wes Lindeen • three-sport athlete who earned four letters in track & field and volleyball and two in basketball • four-time all-state honoree and academic all-state honoree • 10-time Montana High School Class B State Track & Field Championship qualifier with four top-three finishes in javelin and three appearances each in discus and shot put • three-time state champion in javelin, winning titles as a freshman, junior, and senior • won back-to-back state titles in discus as a junior and senior • state runner-up in shot put as a senior (38-02.75) after finishing third as a junior (37-07.50) • two-time Texas Relays High School Girls Javelin champion • holds Colstrip High School records in javelin and discus (2016) and Huntley Project High School record in javelin (2017) • owns high school personal-best marks of 161-10.50 in javelin, 132-05 in discus, and 38-02.75 in shot put.
