The University of Minnesota Women's Tennis Team has signed Lindsay Risebrough to a national letter of intent. She will begin her collegiate career with head coach Tyler Thomson and the Golden Gophers in the 2003-04 season.
Risebrough, a senior at Edina High School, is a three-year letterwinner for the Hornets and helped lead the team to three straight state championships. The number one singles player at Edina, Risebrough also reached the finals of the state singles championship as a junior and advanced to the semifinals as a senior. The two-time all-conference selection is coached by Steve Paulson.
Prior to moving to Minnesota from Calgary, Alberta, Risebrough was ranked in the top 12 in the Canadian Junior Tennis circuit.
Risebrough's father, Doug, is currently the Executive Vice President and General Manager of the NHL's Minnesota Wild.
"We are extremly excited to sign one of the top players in the state of Minnesota," Thomson said. "Lindsay is a hard worker and comes from an athletic family. We are confident that she will be a catalyst for great things to come in the future."
