Members of the Minnesota women's tennis team are competing this weekend at the seventh-annual Kitty Harrison Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. The event began yesterday and ends on Sunday.
Joining the Gophers in the event is host North Carolina, Texas A&M, Duke, Virginia, Pepperdine, Maryland, Georgia Tech, Princeton, Vanderbilt, North Carolina-Greensboro and William & Mary.
Each team will play four rounds of singles and four rounds of doubles. On Friday, Minnesota played singles and doubles matches against Virginia and singles matches against Maryland. On Saturday, the Gophers played doubles against North Carolina-Greensboro and William & Mary and singles versus Duke. The Gophers were a perfect 5-0 on the day in doubles, but did not win a match against Duke.
Minnesota plays Georgia Tech in doubles tomorrow and Princeton in singles to complete the tournament and their fall season.
