The University of Minnesota women's tennis team wrapped up its fall season today in the final day of competition at the 2005 Kitty Harrison Invitational in Chapel Hill, N.C. The Golden Gophers went 0-3 in a hidden doubles dual against the University of Miami.

Versus the Hurricanes, Ida Malmberg and Mariana Spilca lost their first match as a doubles duo, falling 8-2 to Melissa Applebaum and Audrey Banada at No. 1. The Maroon and Gold narrowly lost its match at No. 2 doubles as Danielle Mousseau and Nischela Reddy fell 8-6 to Rupic/Starcyk. Miami wrapped up the sweep at No. 3 with an 8-1 victory by Mowery/ Seenauth over Megan Steiger and Jenna Tellefsen.

The Golden Gophers take a break from competition until opening the 2006 spring season with the Minnesota Court Classic on Jan. 28-29, at the Baseline Tennis Center.
