The University of Minnesota women's tennis team heads to the 2004 Big Ten Championships this week in Evanston, Ill. The Golden Gophers are the No. 10 seed for this weekend's Big Ten Championships. Minnesota will face No. 7 Iowa in the first round on Thursday, April 29 at 2 p.m. Minnesota opened the Big Ten season with a close 4-3 loss to the 43rd-ranked Hawkeyes on Feb. 28.

With a win over Iowa, the Maroon and Gold would advance to face No. 2 Indiana on Friday, April 30 at 2 p.m. The Hoosiers defeated the Golden Gophers 6-1 in UM's final home dual of the season. The top five seeds in the Big Ten Championships receive byes to the quarterfinal round.
