Minnesota set a school record with its 10th straight victory, defeating Iowa, 4-3, Sunday at the Northwest Athletic Club in Bloomington. The Gophers improve to 14-3 overall and 5-1 in the Big Ten.
Iowa won two of the three doubles matches to earn the doubles point, but the Gophers won four of the six singles matches to earn the victory.
Junior Tammy Wang won her 12th straight match, defeating Jennifer Sinclair at the No. 6 singles position, 6-4, 7- 5. Senior Nora Sauska won at No. 2 singles, defeating Toni Neykova, 7-6, 6-2.
Minnesota's doubles win came from senior Kim Simonsen and freshman Amy Thomas at the No. 2 position, defeating Natalya Dawaf and Sinclair, 8-3.
