Hello Gopher fans!
I suppose you were wondering what was happening during our last trip to Milwaukee. Well, let me tell you.
Our road trip started differently than any other trips before – instead of two vans, we took a huge bus that could fit 40 people. We were excited to be all together and have a little bonding time with the team.
We brought some movies on board and started with Despicable Me, but guess what? We took a full advantage of the unlimited amount of space in the bus and decided to catch up with some sleep. The only thing that kept us from six straight hours of sleep was our need for food. We stopped in a nice little town called Wisconsin Dells, but it looked almost like a ghost town– no people and barely and barely anything was open—so we had to get back on the bus and calm our hunger down until our next stop, which was at Culver’s.
It seems that the only places to eat were at Culver’s or some sort of a diner for lumberjacks where you can get all you can eat deals, so I guess Coach picked Culver’s because otherwise Wisconsin’s lumberjacks would be starving for a while.
Anyways, we got to Milwaukee safely and I think I can say for the whole team that it is a very nice place. We practiced for a bit and after we got such a huge dinner that some of us had a hard time to move and walk back to our hotel. I felt like I gained 100lbs, so it was nice to walk it off.
The next morning we were leaving to the courts almost like movie stars – our big bus parked right in front of the hotel entrance and the employers kept the doors open for us, just like for the stars (only the red carpet was missing).
We played Marquette on Saturday at 10 a.m. The match started pretty well—we took the first point after winning two out of three doubles matches. The singles competition was very close—we dropped one match and battled three matches in three sets to get the final score of 6-1. It was our 10th win of the spring season!
After getting the W, we got back on the bus and were off to Minneapolis. We didn’t even bother to play a movie. There were some attempts to study, but we mostly enjoyed the big space for sleeping again.
Now we are off for great week in Florida. We are going to enjoy the sun, get some tan and mostly practice, of course. Because you know what? B1G is coming! Get ready and get pumped!
Hopefully you will get a lot of energy over the Spring Break and be ready to cheer for us on Friday, March 21 when we take on Iowa at the Baseline Tennis Center.
We will show you how to play tennis!
Enjoy your Spring Break!
