Hi Gopher Fans,
This weekend was very exciting for all of us, having three home matches. So far, our season has been going well and we all just to want to keep building on a strong start to the season while continuing to work hard and fight together as the Gopher family that we are.
On Friday night we played a very tough Iowa State team. We were ready to go from the first shot to the last shot across the board. We took the doubles point and then continued with our momentum into singles. We all fought for each and every point together we were Minnesota tough and I could not of been more proud of my teammates for their fight and support of one another.
Going into Sunday we knew it was going to be a long tough day having a doubleheader. We started off first against Marshall, which was a battle. We started with a very tough doubles battle, which Marshall won after a fight at two and three. We went into singles ready to fight for each and every point. We started off strong and continued to stay strong throughout each and every match but we couldn’t quite get it. Marshall played a very hard fought match and we fell to the Herd, but not without a fight.
Up next was Carleton, which was a great opportunity for us to have some different people play. The girls did an amazing job fighting for each and every point during this match. This match was great for Po (Pauline) who has been battling to get back on the court and she did an absolutely fabulous job in singles and doubles and I could not be more proud of her and each and every one of my teammates.
We now go into our Big Ten season facing Wisconsin on Sunday and believe me we are ready! We are so ready to show what an amazingly strong Gopher family we can be throughout this season. We will fight for each and every point. I am so excited for and proud of each of my beautiful teammates. We really appreciate the support from all of the Gopher fans.
Thank you so much! And as always, GO GOPHERS! SKI-U-MAH!
