unrThe University of Minnesota Women's Tennis Team is ranked 71st in the preseason ITA national rankings. The Golden Gophers return four letterwinners from last year's squad which finished the season unranked. Minnesota welcomes a trio of talented newcomers in Angela Buergis, Jeanette Cluskey and Nischela Reddy

Individually, junior Valerie Vladea, a two-time All-Big Ten selection, is ranked 119th in singles. Vladea and senior Michaela Havelkova are ranked 55th in doubles.

The Golden Gophers open their season by hosting the Minnesota Court Classic at the Baseline Tennis Center, Feb. 1-2. Minnesota welcomes No. 21 Washington, No. 39 Harvard and No. 75 Marshall.
