After three days of competition, six members of the women's tennis team closed out the Kitty Harrison Invitational today in Chapel Hill, N.C.
Pauline Gilbert claimed the consolation championship in the navy flight with a 7-6 (2), 6-2 defeat of Amy Ellis (UNCG). Jessika Mozia also notched a victory in the navy bracket, taking her match over Kai Bloomfield by a score of 2-6, 6-0, 1-0(9) to place third in the tournament.
Paula Rincon Otero finished her weekend with a seventh-place win in the white bracket. She found victory over Hope Johnson of William and Mary in a tiebreaker situation.
Tereza Brichacova remained in contention for the consolation championship. She faced UNCG's Niltooli Wilkins and fell in an extended game to finish tenth. Natallia Pintusava and Aria Lambert also ended with losses to place fourteenth in their respective brackets.
