Minneapolis, Minn. – The University of Minnesota fell 7-0 to No. 2 Ohio State Sunday at Baseline Tennis Center for their second conference loss of the season.

Doubles
The first doubles match of the day ended with Annemarie Emme and Camila Vargas Gomez falling to Olivia Sneed and Anna Sanford 6-2 in the No. 3 spot.

The Buckeyes clinched the doubles point with a 6-2 victory from No. 31 Gabriella De Santis and Sandy Niehaus over Caroline Ryba and Cammy Frei.

The No. 1 doubles match between Mehvish Safdar and Caitlyn Merzbacher and No. 10 Francesca Di Lorenzo and Miho Kowase saw the Minnesota duo fall 6-1.

Singles
Barbara Mancera fell 6-1, 6-1 to No. 61 Sanford in the first singles match of the day to finish, they were playing in the No. 3 spot. Shortly after, Vargas Gomez fell to Ferny Angeles Paz 6-1, 6-1.

The No. 1 spot featuring Ryba versus No. 1 Di Lorenzo finished next, seeing Ohio State clinch the victory with a 6-1, 6-0 win. Maja Vujic fell 6-2, 6-0 to No. 53 Kowase to give the Buckeyes a 5-0 lead.

Emme finished the No. 5 spot match with a 7-5, 6-3 defeat to No. 54 Niehaus while Tina Kreinis finished the day with a 6-3, 6-2 defeat to No. 41 De Santis from the No. 2 spot.

The Gophers will play two Big Ten matches this week at Baseline Tennis Center beginning with Nebraska March 25 at 10 a.m. Then the Maroon and Gold will host Iowa Match 26 with a start time scheduled for 11 a.m.
