The Big Ten Conference Office has announced that freshman diver Jessica Livingston has been named the Big Ten Diver of the Week for her performance in the Georgia Invitational this past weekend. It is her first Big Ten weekly honor of her career and the first for the Golden Gopher women's swimming and diving team this season.
Livingston, a native of The Woodlands, Texas, had two first-place finishes, along with a third-place showing to earn the accolade. Livingston started the invite with a first-place finish over 12 divers in the 3-meter event (500.80). She followed with a third-place showing in the 1-meter event (248.40) Saturday and concluded the meet with her second event win, this time in the platform. She had the top score of 419.15, beating out eight divers.
Minnesota's last Big Ten weekly award dates back to the 2003-04 season when former Gopher Rebecca Cornthwaite earned the honor also at the Georgia Invite.
